In an amazing departure for myself, I completed an entry for the contest at The Clarity of Night during my lunch hour, a full week before the contest ends! Normally, I’m the king of procrastination. I think the difference is that I have been writing a lot more lately, especially on Ficlets.com. Maybe all that writing is paying off. Anyhow, I will let you know once he has posted my entry so you can go over there and check it out.

That’s wild, strugglingwriter. Last night (night–not the best time for me to do anything more complicated than sleep, actually) I wrote a full draft of mine in about an hour. I figured, 250 words, shouldn’t be too hard. I’m a little afraid to read the thing today, though. . . .
caveblogem – be afraid, be very afraid. Just kidding. I read my entry about 1000 times, because the first draft was around 300 words and I had to whittle it down to 250 words. I’m happy with it.
Struggles: I wrote one in about 20 minutes, and felt I could have kept going, but I was already at 350. So I whittled and whittled it back down and am just about to go and reread it to make sure it does what I intended before I send it in.
I am coming to realize that I am better at hosting these things than entering them.
Moon Topples – I think your entry is very good. It builds suspense as it goes. Nice work.
