Still busy today, so this will be a quick post.
One of the characters in my NaNoWriMo project is going to be loosely inspired on the Brownie from mythology. Here’s a link describing Brownies from Wikipedia. I say the character is inspired because I’m not using the idea exactly as described there.
My Halloween Short Story, Frank, has been the post getting the most hit here lately, which nice because people are seeing something I’ve written rather than that Death of Garfield post which usually gets the most traffic. People aren’t leaving any comments on the Frank post, though, so I have no idea if they are enjoying the story or not. Oh well.
Bye for now. I hope to post more later.

There’s a lot of material on Brownies for you to work with on Wikipedia. It sounds like a good idea for your Nanowrimo novel. Hope you do well with yours. (I’m actually pre-planning mine this year, maybe that will help.)

Well, I think how lovely qualifies for an ‘I loved it!!!’
I really did.
I am also very busy these days.
I’m translating a scientific paper (some 4-5 pages) titled DIVERSIFYING ARTHROPOD ASSEMBLAGES OF GREENHOUSE PEPPER – PRELIMINARY RESULTS.
I don’t think it sounds half as much interesting as a book on brownies.
But this is where I got money from.
But if you are interested in reading it….I can send it to you…hee hee
I was joking. Sort of.
‘ll be back when I’m finished with it.
When I was a kid, I was in the Brownie Guides, and we were divided into different groups – I actually think they were called “packs”! Surely not? Anyway, each pack was given the name of a different mythological creature and my pack was “Scottish Kelpie”. I was so impressed by that. On our Brownie uniform (which was a brown dress with a brown bobble hat and a yellow tie with a four-leaved-clover pin) we got to sew lots of badges, including the one for our pack. I loved the Scottish Kelpie one because it had a little dancing man who was bright green! I so have to write a post about this, thank you for reminding me! I hope your NaNoWriMo planning is going well.
Helen – we had the Brownies in the states too, and my sister was a Brownie. I remember the uniform. I hope you post about your experiences, because that sounds like a nice memory.
