The End of Storytelling?

The other day, I heard someone lament the fact that due to television and other distractions, we no longer tell our children stories. In the old days, the person lamented, children would often ask their parents to tell them a story and the parents would then proceed to spin a yarn. Soon, I will be a parent and I look forward to tucking my son or daughter in for the night and continuing the tradition of storytelling.

I look forward to telling tales of wizards and fairies, of gnomes and dragons, of anything I can think of.  Anyone out there with children, or neices and nephews, or whatever craft your own stories for children?  Who knows, maybe I will even be able to write some of them down and get a novel out of it?
