Endicott Studios announced the other day that there is an “Endicott Studio Channel” on YouTube. There is some really good stuff there including video of Neil Gaiman reading “Instructions”
Also there is an an A&E biography of J.K. Rowling from a few years ago. I highly recommend this to all you writers out there. Truly inspirational. I plan on watching this again right before NaNoWriMo for an extra kick of excitement. Here is part 1:
As you are reading this, I’m on a car trip from Pennsylvania to Georgia, roughly a 700 mile car trip. I’ll be back home on Monday but will hopefully check back here from the hotel. We’ll see. I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I did.
We were traveling somewhere this summer and I looked out the window and saw rows of Golden Rods, their yellow tops swaying in the wind. I imagined they were a group of little men, with green coats and flowing golden hats. I thought this would make a pretty cool character idea, so I’m using it in my NaNoWriMo project. I wasn’t able to get a picture at the time, but I found a pretty nice one on the internet. You can see that below.
I don’t have a name for the character yet, so I keep calling him Goldenrod in my notes. I’ll have to think up something creative soon.
Anyone else have any stories of inspiration like this?
