38,000 Words

Well, I caught back up with the NaNoWriMo project.  I am at the 38,000 word mark, only a couple hundred words off pace.  I’d keep writing but it’s 2:15 AM and my sentences are starting to be garbled.

Anyhow, that’s where I am. I will write more later about my fun holiday and how I caught a toddler (not even mine) who almost went head first into a pool of water.

  1. How can you be ahead of me, and count yourself behind?

I write 2,000 words a day, I am at 36,000, (need to have 38,000 by tonight, Saturday) my goal is 50,000 for end of November. I think I am on track. Is my math wrong?

  2. NaNoWriMo doesn’t seem to be going that badly for you, though. With all your posts, it seems like it’s no sweat. If I were doing NaNoWriMo, I’d be posting about how I wanted to hurt someone I was so frustrated.
Yeah, about the toddler thing, I always end up watching other peoples’ kids, and I don’t even have kids–I watch my siblings. It’s hard to watch just a select few when your parental instincts are going off telling you that that kids about to fall down the stairs…

  3. Taffiny – today is day 24 and 1667 times 24 is 40008, so I’ll need that many words to be “on pace”. At least that’s my logic.

curbxstomp – it can be rough watching some else’s kids. sounds like you have experience with this. also, I’ve experience the “i want to hurt someone feelings”, i just don’t write about them here. 🙂

everyone else – thanks for the encouragement!

  4. Wow that’s awesome! Me, well, I gave up on Nano – but the reality is that I was so crazed with grading papers for school that I just never had a chance to write for myself! I’m looking forward to winter break!

  5. Good luck! You can do it! I’ve just passed 38 000 myself – am aiming for 42000 today because the rest of the week is not going to be writer friendly…
