I came across this today and had to share it. It’s a beer vending machine. We soooo need this in the States (in my living room).
The image and article can be found at Wall Street Fighter.
Also, I signed up for Twitter today, so you can favorite me today at http://twitter.com/strugglngwriter. Just another thing to keep me from writing. π
You’ll never believe it, Struggling Writer, but the first time I lived in Japan, 1996, there was a machine almost identical to that one opposite my apartment. It’s a pity I don’t drink beer!! What I loved about Japanese vending machines is that they sell hot green tea in winter and cold green tea in summer. Why hasn’t Australia caught on to that?!
How funny!
Regarding Twitter, I don’t get it. It seems like you’d need a phone that allows text messages so you could tweet all day. I just have a computer and three small kids. I’m lucky to write my post at 5 am while they are sleeping.
Then I answer comments sporadically throughout the day. How does this thing of which you speak work?
A beer vending machine?! Now I’ve seen it all! Another blogging buddy who lives in Japan did a whole series of photos of vending machines, it’s just amazing what they dispense! π
Helen – I could totally go for tea in vending machines too!
cardiogirl – I didn’t get Twitter for a while, but it seems fun. We’ll see if I get bored with it.
Vanilla – Japan seems cooler now π
Actually, Struggling Writer, something else, you see the big beer cans in the top row? Well in real life they’re *massive*! I couldn’t believe it when I saw them. I think I even posted some home to UK at vast expense.
. . . stocked with Guinness. Ohh yeah!
You’re Twittered . . .
I saw the funniest website about all the funny vending machines Japan has – the funniest had to be a boiled egg vending machine. I just cracked up on that one!!
I spent a semester in Austria, and just outside of my student dorm room was a beer vending machine. It was great! Two euro for a 750ml bottle. I was in heaven.
