First, the Fall Festival was great, although a bit hot. I was dressed for Fall in Summer weather. Oh well. At least it did rain. Also, we picked out a nice pumpkin and picked some apples too.
Anyhow, on our way there, traveling on what could be described as a rural road in Central Pennsylvania, traffic slowed, sirens began blazing, and I kid you not the friggin’ Straight Talk Express came rolling by. Seriously. One of McCain’s tour buses drove right past me. Surreal. I didn’t even give them the one finger salute (my daughter was in the car).
Anyhow, it turns out Sarah Palin made a surprise stop at the very fruit farm we were driving to. We must’ve missed them by minutes. Seriously. Here’s an article from the local newspaper.
You all know I’m not a big fan of McCain or Palin, but from the pictures in the article it seemed like her visit made a few people’s day. Good for them. Happy people is always a good thing in my book. I just wonder what those people in the Secret Service and those big buses were thinking as they drove through the farm country.
