There are legitimately four or five books coming out in October that are on my “must read” list. Seeing as how I have MAYBE room in the budget for one new book a month, this could be a problem. Not all of them are going to make it to the library either.
Here are the books on my list, all of which launch in October. I list them to make you aware they are coming out and also so I don’t forget.
- Peter & Max: A Fables Novel If you read comic books at all, you know Fables. This book is set in that same universe.
- And Another Thing…Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: Part Six of Three
- I mentioned this yesterday. It is the 6th book in the Hitchhiker’s Galaxy series. If you like to laugh, you will enjoy Hitchhiker’s Guide. This one is not by Douglas Adams, but I’m still hopefull.
- Looking for Calvin and Hobbes: The Unconventional Story of Bill Watterson and His Revolutionary Comic Strip
This one is about the creator of the reclusive Calvin and Hobbes comic strip. I have read the prologue of this book and it is very interesting.
- Unseen Academicals
This is the latest in the Discworld series. It’s soccer in the Discworld. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Right now I’m leaning toward either the Fables novel or the Calvin and Hobbes novel. Or a second job.
I feel your pain. I have so many books I want to read, but my budget isn’t going to allow it. How to pick just one…
Picking one book? Totally impossible. But I just got a library card so now I don’t have to pick just one!
I’m 28 years old and just got a library card. I am hoping it will save me lots and lots of money.
🙂 I love Terry Pratchett! I’m going to have to make sure I catch up with them soon.
I’ve spent more on books the last few months than ever before. Usually I pick something up at Costco that looks good. Now I’m looking for specific books. I find I don’t like using the library because then I have a time limit to read it.
I’m looking forward to Stephen King’s new one: under the Dome. I thinks that comes out in October…or it may be November….
Nothing beats buying a new book…the trouble is my ‘to be read’ pile is getting higher and higher!
Exactly!
