What Up

This clip encapsulates my entire philosophy on life.

So what’s going on with me? Um…some stuff? Let’s see. I’ve spent way too much time thinking about the NHL playoffs, well, as it pertains to the Pittsburgh Penguins. I’ve done a pretty good job the past few years of weaning myself off of spectator sports, but the NHL playoffs are just so much fun to watch. So yeah, every other night has been eaten by sports watching.

On the positive side, I’ve started working out again. I have a bench in my finished basement and have been trying to get back into my old routine. I’ve kept at it a week, which is no time at all, but is a start. I have to constantly tell myself to not push it too hard and injure myself though, no matter how pathetic I feel at the amount of strength I’ve lost. Because that way leads to injury and another exercise hiatus.

I’ve also been getting out during my lunch break for walks now that the weather has finally improved. I generally get about 8,000 steps in and a good amount of thought. My first walk I had an interesting idea for a novel. Let’s see what becomes of that.

And finally, I’ve been playing this “episodic interactive drama graphic adventure video game” titled Life is Strange. The game’s plot focuses on Max (this is the character you control) who is a photography student who discovers that she has the ability to rewind time at any moment, leading her every choice to enact the butterfly effect. This is a big emphasis in the game, that one tiny choice you make can change your “story” in significant ways. I’ve enjoyed it thus far.

And that’s about it. Enjoying the weather, liking life, and not writing enough.

  1. Ah, that’s right. That’s why the traffic was f’ing ridiculous last night. Too bad the Pens still lost last night.
